Art Demo and Conversation with Carol Shutt

Mixed-media artist Carol Shutt will paint at the Wendell Gilley Museum on Friday, Aug. 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., demonstrating her process and answering questions about her work. Weather permitting, she will be outside under the Museum’s orange wing; otherwise she will be inside in the Gilley’s activities room. Free and open to all. No registration necessary. Just drop by to see a great artist in action. Shutt was the longtime art teacher at Mount Desert Elementary School. Now retired, she is a full-time artist creating works that includes painting, drawing, collages, creating and altering books, marine clay, and poetry. Her work is currently on display at the Gilley and Artemis Gallery in Northeast Harbor.
