Description

It's All About the Stitch: Texture, Cables, Lace, and Colorwork - A 2-day knitting workshop with Susan Dewey Saturday, March 8 from 10 AM - 2 PM and Sunday, March 9 from 10 AM - 1 PM in the Kaleidoscope Studio We'll be taking a close look at how knitting is structured and empowering you with the knowledge to make patterns of your own! Prior to the workshop, participants should have a rudimentary understanding of how to knit, purl, cast on, and bind off by yourself. If you don't, stop by ArtWaves to see the Which Stitch? group in the weeks leading up to the course.

Which Stitch? meets every Monday from 10 AM - 12 PM and is filled with folks who would love to teach you the basics! Participants should bring the following supplies: 2 balls / cakes of yarn, DK or worsted weight, contrasting colors, at least 100g total. Circular knitting needle, US# 6, 7 or 8. Crochet hook Scissors Any other tools you like to have close by *ArtWaves and the Which Stitch group will have basic knitting supplies available.

About the Instructor: Susan Dewey is a curious knitter, always wanting to understand the "why" of anything she does. She loves sharing what she has learned with anyone willing to listen, and winkling out answers to any questions that might arise. Her Grammy taught her to knit early on. Twenty years later, Susan discovered Elizabeth Zimmermann and Barbara Walker, and began adding texture and color work to a basic top-down raglan sweater. That was when she moved from someone who knits to a Knitter.
