Mendelssohn's Elijah

Description

To celebrate the 50th anniversary, the Mt. Desert Summer Chorale performs ELIJAH by Mendelssohn. The chorale is directed by David Schildkret, and the chorale is pleased to announce that world-renowned baritone Gordon Hawkins is featured in the title role. Additional soloists include Carole Fitzpatrick (soprano), Robyn Rocklein (mezzo-soprano), and David Parks (tenor). Singers are both local and from away--some from abroad, and they are accompanied by a professional orchestra. Come at 7:00 pm for a pre-concert talk by David Schildkret. Admission to the concerts is by voluntary donation at the door.  We suggest $20, but you may pay more or less as you are able. We recommend arriving early to be sure of getting a seat.
