Poetry Slam at the Jesup

Share your poetry at a special Verse Unleashed! Poetry Slam at the Jesup Memorial Library on Friday, April 19 at 7 p.m. April is National Poetry Month and this slam will feature a tribute to the late poet Mary Oliver. Oliver’s poetry often explored the connection between the natural and spiritual world and she won multiple awards for her work including the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award.
 
Come share your own work or a piece of poetry that inspires you. Unlike traditional slams, the Jesup’s poetry slam is all about community and comradery not competition. Bring your friends or family and share your poetry in a supportive atmosphere.
