Spring Open House & Carving Show

We would like to warmly invite you to our annual Spring Open House and Carving Show on Sunday, May 12th, 12-4pm at the Gilley! A large flock of birds will be landing, including Evening Grosbeaks, Social Sandpipers and Arctic Terns by museum members and students from Acadia Senior College, Mount Desert and Tremont Consolidated Elementary schools, and other local artists. We are also excited to share with you a major exhibition of work by master carver Harold Haertel, whose work will be shown alongside Wendell Gilley's, and beautiful paintings of Maine landscape by artist Paul Rickert, from the Susan Abbot Myers collection. There will be music by The Jazz Collective and, as always, delicious refreshments by Sips. All are welcome - no admission fee for this special event.
