In this workshop we will be creating botanical prints using a simple technique to reveal the colors and unique patterns that are hidden in plant materials that humans cannot visually see. While processing our foliage and waiting for the “magic” to appear; we will discuss the botany of leaves, the simple chemistry behind making botanical prints and various methods that can be used to alter the results. We will also construct a small booklet to showcase our prized finished prints and perhaps write about their individual stories. Students must be 15 or older. Materials: ~Bring a small assortment of leaves from local trees, shrubs, ferns, grasses and any flower heads that are available to you. Please gather sustainably and keep your plant material pressed between a catalogue or book pages. ~scissors ~pencil and paper for notes No experience needed, just a curious mind and a willingness to have fun. Registration is required.
