Say hello to Abyss, our sweet and stunning young adult kitty who’s ready to melt your heart! This curious girl came to us from our friends at the Bucksport shelter after they experienced an influx of cats. Since then, we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know this lovely feline, and she’s come such a long way in a short amount of time.

When Abyss first arrived at the SPCA, she was on the shy side - quiet, reserved, and unsure of her new surroundings. But with a little time, patience, and a lot of love, her personality has truly begun to shine. These days, Abyss is a confident and vocal companion who’s not afraid to let you know when she wants attention (or dinner). She’s got a gentle, affectionate nature and a spark of playful curiosity that makes her a joy to spend time with. She is a torti and can have a little “tori-tude”, but we think it just makes her even more lovable! 

Abyss is currently waiting for a hernia surgery, which is scheduled for early August. Once she recovers, she’ll officially be ready to find her forever home. Until then, she’s soaking up all the love she can from staff and volunteers.

If you're looking for a cat who will blossom with you and be your chatty, curious best friend, keep Abyss in your heart. She’s not quite ready to go home just yet, but she’ll be worth the wait.
