PET OF THE WEEK
Meet Atticus - a tender-hearted 3-year-old cat with soulful eyes and a quiet spirit who’s patiently waiting for someone special to notice him. He’s not the type to demand attention or steal the spotlight, but once you sit with him, speak softly, and offer a few tasty Churu treats, you’ll begin to see the gentle magic that makes Atticus so special.
At first, Atticus may seem shy or unsure, but can you blame him? The world can be a big and overwhelming place. However, underneath that reserved exterior is a cat full of quiet love, waiting to bloom in the right environment. Since arriving at the SPCA of Hancock County, Atticus has shown us just how much trust and heart he’s capable of giving. He’s learned to ask for affection when he’s ready, and just as importantly, he’s learned that it’s okay to ask for space too. We’re not sure yet how he feels about children, dogs, or other cats, but we believe that with slow introductions, patience, and a whole lot of heart, Atticus could fit beautifully into the right home. He needs someone who understands that trust is earned with time and kindness.
If you’ve ever wanted to be the person who makes a difference in a shy animal’s life, Atticus is ready to meet you halfway. Come visit Atticus at the SPCA of Hancock County. He may not rush to the front of the kennel, but take a seat, speak softly, and he just might come to meet you. The best friendships often begin in the quietest of ways.
